Construction companies build our communities. They create the schools we learn in, the hospitals that care for us, the roads we travel, and the businesses that drive our economy. Yet many construction business owners make critical decisions without timely, meaningful financial information.
Often times, accounting focuses on reporting what happened after the fact. At Aurora, we believe financial information should help business owners make better decisions before problems arise.
That is why we created the BUILD™ Methodology—a practical framework that combines reliable accounting with strategic financial leadership. Our goal is simple: to help construction businesses strengthen their financial foundation, improve profitability, protect cash flow, and build lasting business value.
Not only do we prepare financial reports, we help build stronger construction businesses.

Read Article →Who do you work with?
We work exclusively with Alberta construction businesses — residential contractors, commercial builders, trade contractors, and subcontractors. Our services are designed specifically for the financial realities of the construction industry: job costing, holdback management, WIP schedules, bonding requirements, and the cash flow patterns unique to project-based work.
Where are you based?
We are based in Alberta, Canada, and serve construction businesses across the province. Our services are delivered virtually, which means we work with contractors in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and across rural Alberta without requiring in-person meetings.
What makes Aurora different from a regular accountant?
Most accountants focus on compliance — producing the required reports after the year is done. We focus on helping you use your financial information to make better decisions before problems arise. We combine CPA-prepared compiled financial statements with ongoing strategic advisory, including a monthly Alberta construction sector intelligence briefing that tells you what the market is doing and what it means for your business. We also bring nine years of project accounting experience to every engagement, which means we understand how project-based finances work from the inside.
Do you only do bookkeeping?
No. Our entry-level service is compiled financial statements prepared under the Canadian Accounting Standard for Compilation. Compiled statements carry a CPA signature and are accepted by bonding companies, banks, and surety underwriters. This is substantively different from bookkeeping, which does not involve CPA attestation and is not accepted for most bonding or lending purposes.
Can I use your compiled statements for bonding applications?
Yes. Our compiled statements are prepared specifically with bonding and surety requirements in mind. We include the WIP schedules, backlog analysis, and supporting schedules that bonding underwriters look for. We also offer a standalone bonding package engagement for contractors who need a more comprehensive submission
How much do compiled financial statements cost?
Our compiled financial statements start at $2,500 for the annual engagement, depending on the size and complexity of your operations. This includes a construction-specific financial statement presentation, job cost schedule, WIP summary, holdback schedules, and a year-end package formatted for bonding and lender requirements.
